General
The name “Camp7” was inspired by both the popular 1970s outdoor outfitting company, of the same name (Camp7) and the highest and most demanding Camp before the summit of Mount Everest. The owners of Camp7 wanted to create a space that embodied the spirit of adventure and exploration, much like the iconic Camp VII. Drawing from this idea, “Camp7” represents a place where people can disconnect from the everyday, challenge themselves, and embrace the beauty of the outdoors—just as climbers do at one of the most awe-inspiring locations on earth.
Camp7 gear was a staple during camping trips and outdoor adventures when Scott (one of the Camp7 owners) was a kid and played a part in his love for the outdoors from a young age. While Camp7 the outdoor company is no longer producing gear, their high-quality items still get used on many of our outdoor explorations and adventures and serve as inspiration to get people outside.
While we are dog and cat lovers, because of the large amount of wildlife at Camp7 and around the property, we respect their habitat and therefore ask that you leave your pets at home.
We do require rental of the cabin in order to “reserve” the property and ensure total privacy. Once you’ve booked your reservation at the cabin, rest assured you will be staying in your own private paradise. We never book anyone or any other parties at Camp7 when you are our guest. See our Booking Details page for more information about booking options and add-on accommodation options. We are honored that you are considering Camp7 for a stay and welcome you and your family to our special slice of paradise.
Yes, there is a freestanding bathroom and shower structure located near the swimming pond for all guests to use. There are two traditional flushing toilets, two outdoor showers with running hot water and sinks with hot and cold water. Access to these freestanding bathrooms/showers is included with rental of the camping teepees, glamping teepee, or safari tents as well.
Camp7 Staff can be reached at (970)-200-4654. Please call or text, and reach out with any concerns or questions.
The pond does not contain chlorine. It is safe for swimming due to the natural spring that delivers fresh water, and the aerators that keep the water circulating at all times.
There are a few deep-water Grass Carp in the pond that help to control algae and aquatic vegetation growth. Please do not attempt to catch any fish you may see. They are not for catching purposes as they help maintain the natural balance of the pond.
There are several great fishing spots within a twenty-minute drive from Camp7 including Vega State Park and Jerry Creek Reservoir.
Activities such as swimming, hiking, sports games such as soccer, frisbee, football, kickball, slip n’ slide, slacklines, corn hole, horseshoes, beach volleyball, disc golf and more!
Check out the Activities page for more info about what’s included in your stay and what other activities are available for a fee.
There are many types of wildlife around Camp7 including deer, elk, skunk, wild turkey, mountain lion, black bear, rock squirrel, marmot, rabbit and several types of birds of prey. And if you’re lucky enough, you might see the Camp7 snipe!
We respect the wildlife around the property and ask that you please do the same. No hunting.
The cabin is equipped with filtered and softened drinking water from all the faucets. Around the property, there are several red-handled spigots that also provide clean drinking water. The water from the faucets at the freestanding bathroom structure on the property also provide clean drinking water.
Check-in time is at 4:00pm, and check-out is 11:00am. We are located in Mountain Standard Time zone.
We kindly ask that you do not smoke in the cabin. You may smoke outside, but you MUST take fire precautions at all times and put out all cigarette butts completely. Please pick up all cigarette butts and dispose of them properly. Please do not smoke inside the cabin, teepees, or safari tents.
Yes, there is ample parking on the property for all our guests.
There are many different options for food during your stay at Camp7. The nearest town of Collbran has a few restaurants we recommend such as the Collbran Café for traditional American food, and Mountain High Pie for pizza and milkshakes. The nearby town of Mesa also has several restaurants and is only a short twenty minutes away.
There is also a small grocery store/market in Collbran, but hours and stock can be limited so we do recommend stocking up on larger food purchases before heading into Collbran.
